Los Angeles Lakers sign Chinese guard Sun Yue

LA Lakers signed Sun Yue chinese guard
The Los Angeles Lakers signed Chinese guard Sun Yue to a multi-year contract on Monday. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Sun Yue, a second-round pick in the 2007 NBA draft, agreed a two-season contract with the Western Conference champion Los Angeles Lakers earlier this month but delayed signing the papers until the end of the Beijing Olympics.

The 23-year-old Sun, averaged 6.8 points, 2.5 assists, 1.7 rebounds and 1.3 steals in six games for China in the Beijing Olympics.

Sun played for the Beijing Aoshen Olympians of the American Basketball Association for the past three seasons, and was named First Team All-ABA in both 2007 and 2008.

The 6-foot-9 point guard will give an added foreign presence for the team, joining Pau Gasol of Spain, Vladimir Radmanovic of Serbia and Sasha Vujacic of Slovenia.
